Cojines: hojas otoñales

Este precioso cojín es el primero de una serie en la que estoy trabajando. Los próximos tendrán medidas distinas, así que estad atentos.
La tela de raso pertenecía a una falda, y sobre ella están serigrafiados varios motivos de hojas en distintos tamaños. La parte trasera es de algodón, tela de tapicería con una trama de hilos marrones y negros.

Mide 30x50cm (12"x20"aprox.), y el relleno se puede encontrar facilmente.

This beautiful cuhion/pillow cover is the first of a series I am working on. Next ones would have different measures, so stay tuned.
The upper fabric is satin from a vintage skirt with screen printed leaves motifs in different sizes. The back part is upholstery cotton, with brown and black weaved threads.

It measures 30x50cm (12"x20"aprox.), and the filling can be easily found.

Botanica

Aquí están los diseños iniciales de las fundas de cojines "botanica", son serigrafías y acrílico sobre lienzo, (vista más detallada aquí) su tamaño aproximando es 30x40cm y están en venta!!!

Here are the initial designs used in the "botanica"cushion covers, they are screen prints and acrilic on canvas, (close up view here) they measure 30x40cm (12”x16”aprox.) and they are for sale!!!

Cojines: ojos I

Voy a intentar mostrar poco a poco el proceso de realización de estos cojines.

Esto es parte del vestido inicial, comprado en el rastro. La tela es realmente bonita y alegre. La mayoría de las veces compro las prendas por sus estampados.











La falda ya está desmontada, y sobre las cuatro piezas resultantes he serigrafiado el nuevo estampado, una combinación de ojos sacados de anuncios de máscara de pestañas.

Mañana espero publicar los cojines ya cosidos, y fotos de la parte de atrás.

I’m trying to show you the making off of this cushion covers.
This is the upper part of the dress, bought in a flea market. The fabric is really nice and funky. Most of the time, I buy stuff just because of the fabric’s pattern.
The lower part/skirt pieces have being unsown (a painstaking process), and screen printed with an overlapping pattern. The new pattern is based on eyes and eyelashes from mascara ads.
I might be able to post the finished cushion covers tomorrow, with some pics of the front and back.

Cojines: los primeros

Estos son los primeros cojines que he realizado.
el diseño lo he utilizado en serigrafías anteriores.









 
La medida de los cojines es 30x40 cm. y el cierre es tipo sobre o solapa.
Están serigrafiados en la parte delantera, en la parte trasera sólo mi nombre/logo.
Tengo tres, dos iguales, y un tercero con la pieza de parte trasera distinta, no continúan las líneas.

This are the first cushion covers I have made.

The design has being used in previous screen prints.

The measurements are 30x40cm (12”x16”aprox.) with envelope closure.

They are screen printed on the front and my logo is on the back.

I have a pair of the them, and a third one with a different combination of stripes.

Presentacion

Serigrafía textil sobre telas recuperadas.

Se trata de telas que han sido recicladas por su interés a nivel de diseño de estampados. Provienen de saldos o eran parte de otras prendas de segunda mano. Las piezas se han descosido con sumo cuidado para aprovechar la mayor cantidad de tela.

Sobre ellas se superpone otro motivo mediante serigrafía textil, de un modo totalmente manual. Una actualización y revitalización de materiales descartados mediante la yuxtaposición de estampados.

Las piezas son cosidas formando cojines, con un cuidado acabado totalmente artesano. Al recuperarse en cojines los nuevos estampados se muestran en todo su esplendor, son como cuadros en tu sofá.

Textile screen-printing on upcycled fabric 
The fabric to be upcycled is selected for the quality and interest of their patterns. Re-used fabric comes from second hand clothes or cast offs. The garments have been undone at the seams very carefully to save as much fabric as possible.

On top of each piece another motif/pattern is overlaid by a hand made screen print. Discharged materials are revitalized and updated through the juxtaposition of patterns.

The resulting pieces are sawn together into cushion covers with a hand made finish. With the upcycling of old patterns, they are revealed in their new splendour; your everyday cushions are turned into beautiful works of art.
